PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has called on commercial banks to reduce lending rates in order to provide cheaper capital to businesses. He said financial institutions should work towards reducing the cost of borrowing to ensure more people have access to finance. “Can we work on reducing the lending rate? We do our part as Government, Bank of Zambia also does its part and you also do your part,” he said. “We must work together.
