Letter to the Editor

Culture of studying to pass exams, employment policies to blame

Dear editor,
What Mr Joel Lungu articulated in his letter published in the Zambia Daily Mail on March 28, 2017 entitled “Culture of studying to pass exams costing us” made sense.
However, blaming this on parents alone was a bit askew. The biggest culprit of this problem is Zambia’s employment and more especially staff promotion policies.
People are now cheating to get academic qualifications so that they get a job and/or get a promotion. Experience is not a factor.
