Cross-border traders to get technical skills

THE Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and two cooperating partners will train small-scale cross border traders on technical skills on trade facilitation to improve on their trade undertakings.
The partnership with the European Union (EU) and Germany Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) follows increased cross border trading at Kasumbalesa one-stop border post with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Cross Border Traders Association policy advisor Charles Kakoma said COMESA is working with its members to manage the Trade Information Desks (TIDs).
Mr Kakoma said COMESA in conjunction with EU and GIZ will next month hold a workshop for cross border traders on trade facilitation.
