I REFER to the article in your newspaper edition dated January 14, 2019 by Millers Association of Zambia president Andrew Chintala urging Government and the Ministry of Agriculture in particular to consider regionalising crop production.
This is timely advice as some crops do not do well in some regions.
Production of maize requires a lot of fertiliser in areas with sandy soils.
It will indeed be cost-effective if farmers in regions concentrate on growing crops that are suitable for their soils and weather patterns.
