Court issues bench warrant against Chilufya Tayali

LUSAKA Magistrates Court has issued a bench warrant against Economic and Equity Party president Chilufya Tayali after he absconded court twice.
Resident magistrate Mbuywana Sinvula issued the bench warrant yesterday on the politician after he missed court sessions.
The bench warrant is returnable next week, March 27.
This is in a case Tayali is accused of expressing or showing hatred, ridicule or contempt for persons because of race after he claimed that “Bembas are useful idiots” about January 26 last year.
Tayali, who was live on his Facebook page on Saturday, is also appearing in other courts for using language inciting mutiny and accusing Chief Mukuni of being behind the 2020 gassing incidents in the country.
