MELODY MUPETA, Kitwe
POLICE in Kitwe have launched a manhunt for a teacher of Lubomba Primary School for allegedly defiling his 15-year-old pupil.
Copperbelt commissioner of police Charity Katanga said in an interview yesterday that the teacher allegedly defiled the girl around 10:00 hours within the school premises yesterday.
Mrs Katanga identified the teacher as James Mulenga, 30.
“I can confirm that we have launched a manhunt for James Mulenga, a teacher of Lubomba Primary School, who is on the run after he allegedly defiled a pupil of the same school,” she said.
Ms Katanga said the victim’s aunt reported the sexual abuse to the police after the girl narrated that Mulenga had lured her to an office to ostensibly collect examination past papers but he instead locked the door and allegedly forced himself on her.
