Copperbelt table tennis league revived

MWILA NTAMBI, Kitwe
THE Copperbelt Table Tennis Association (CTTA) has resolved to reintroduce a league in a bid to revive the sport in the region.
CTTA chairperson Alick Tembo said yesterday that table tennis clubs in the province met at Power Recreation Club in Kitwe on Saturday and agreed to revive the league.
The revival will start with a tournament slated for the first or second week of March.
“We need to revive the sport through staging of tournaments and the reintroduction of the league this year,” he said.
The clubs also resolved to start preparing for the Zambia Table Tennis Association (ZTTA) elective annual general meeting slated for this year.
He alleged that the current ZTTA executive committee is in office illegally.
The meeting was attended by clubs from Chingola, Luanshya, Mpongwe, Mufulira and Ndola.
