Copperbelt roads rehab progresses

YAMBA

HONE SIAME, Kitwe
GOVERNMENT has rehabilitated a stretch of 339 kilometres of feeder roads on the Copperbelt out of the planned 387.7 kilometres.
Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba said in a progress report of the revised Sixth National Development Plan (SNDP) released by the Ministry of Development Planning that the Copperbelt has continued making steady progress in the implementation of major programmes.
Mr Yamba said the rehabilitated feeder roads will not only make the movement of people and transportation of goods easy but also make peri-urban areas accessible.
“A total of 339km of feeder roads were rehabilitated out of 387.7km planned,” Mr Yamba said.
He also said Government has rehabilitated a bee-keeping factory at Mwekera in Kitwe and Mikomfwa Dam in Luanshya.
