A POLICE officer has testified how two brothers allegedly assaulted him after they were detained for conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
Constable Mushili Kwalombota, 30, of Ndeke Police Post, says on July 18 this year, while he was on duty, Mwenya Mulenga, 39, and Enoch Mulenga, 33, were reported at the station by Naik Chipungu for allegedly insulting him.
He said the cause of the altercation between Mr Chipungu and the two brothers was allegedly over land.
Constable Kwalombota testified that when Mwenya and Enoch visited the police post, they allegedly appeared drunk.
“After I interviewed them, I made up my mind to charge the suspects with conduct likely to cause breach of peace, but they resisted to be arrested. Instead, they started squeezing my neck in order to choke me,” he said.
The police officer said he sustained bruises on the left side of the neck and had a severe headache. CLICK TO READ
