A CYBER security investigator has told the Ndola Magistrate’s Court how fraudsters are using other people’s mobile phone details to swindle unsuspecting members of the public out of money.
Testifying in a matter in which six teachers on the Copperbelt were allegedly defrauded by musician Mathews Silungwe, Zambia Police Service cyber security investigator Geoffrey Zyambo said people should be careful because swindlers can use their mobile phone details to steal money from them.
In this matter, Silungwe, 28, of Kabushi township, is charged with personation and six counts of theft after he allegedly swindled six teachers he promised to register with the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ).
It is alleged that on September 25 this year in Ndola, with intent to defraud, Silungwe falsely represented himself as an inspector from TCZ to Grace Sokoni.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
