Contractors, notify motorists of any road closures in advance

Dear editor,
MUCH as we appreciate all the road works going on, out of courtesy, contractors should make it a point of notifying motorists when roads would be closed instead of inconveniencing them.
With the expensive fuel, it is inconsiderate of contractors to close roads without notifications, which usually results in long traffic queues and is very costly on drivers.
Once motorists are given prior notice about road closures and signage put at appropriate places, they are able to plan their routes in advance instead of being caught unaware as is the case at the moment.
Otherwise, we look forward to hassle-free driving once all the road works are completed.
