I WISH to commend Government for the on-going construction of trades training institutes throughout the country.
This is a brilliant way of distributing national development to all parts of the country.
The country needs trades schools to scale up skills because the days of white-collar jobs are gone. The youth need to be taught how to catch fish and not be given fish.
However, for trade schools to make impact, Government should come up with a deliberate policy of giving contracts to graduates as a way of empowering them to contribute to employment creation.
