ZIMBA district commissioner Elizabeth Kalaluka says Government has started construction of 10 medium cost houses at a cost of K6,959,000
Ms Kalaluka said in an interview yesterday that Government has engaged Good Fid Construction Company Limited to build the houses.
She said the project is under the infrastructure development programme of newly created districts countrywide.
Ms Kalaluka said the houses are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“The objective of the project will meet an urgent and growing demand for houses,” Ms Kalaluka said.
She said the three bedroomed houses will have indoor toilets and bathrooms.
Ms Kalaluka commended the Patriotic Front (PF) administration for its hard work and determination to ensure that the housing project takes off.
She said other development projects to be completed by the end of the year include the police station, low, medium and high cost housing units, district administration offices and civic centre.
