I WISH to congratulate Zambian female referee Gladys Lengwe on being selected to officiate at the 2018 FIFA Under 20 Women World Cup in France.She is among the 15 selected referees.
Lengwe is one of the prominent Zambian female referees who exhibit hard work and discipline in their duties.
Her achievement is a great motivation to the upcoming female referees in Zambia. They should, however, emulate her to make a mark.
The 2018 FIFA Under 20 football tournament in France will run from August 5 to August 24.
Before her appointment to officiate at this year’s football tournament, she officiated at the 2015 Women World Cup which was held in Canada. She also officiated at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics Games.
To Lengwe, I say congratulations on her appointment at the Women World Cup. She has put Zambia on the world map just like the 2018 Russia World Cup bound Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe. We are proud of you.
