I WISH to congratulate the Zambia national soccer team, fondly known as Chipolopolo, on trouncing Swaziland 4-0 in the Kenya 2018 African Nations
Championship (CHAN) first round first leg.
The encounter between the two countries was anticipated to be tough, but it was Zambia that proved to be the better side. Zambia started the game on a fast and promising note, looking for goals.
The emphatic win by the Chipolopolo is a good gesture and a giant step towards qualifying for the CHAN tournament slated for 2018 in Kenya.
Zambia host Swaziland in the second leg this Saturday at National Heroes Stadium.
If Zambia win on aggregate in the two legs, the team will play the winner between Botswana and South Africa, who edged the former 2-0 in the first leg.
To coach Wedson Nyirenda and the team, I say congratulations on beating Swaziland on Sunday.
