ALLOW me to convey my heartfelt congratulations to newly-appointed Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director general Kapetwa Phiri.
The appointment is indeed well deserved.
Mr Phiri is a distinguished individual, whose life is anchored on Christian principles. I have known him to be a man of unquestionable integrity.
Despite his high intellectual capability, the man is one of the most humble people I have ever met.
Zambia being a Christian nation needs more such leaders. We need leaders who will not only bring their intellect and skill to the table but moral values as well.
President Lungu deserves commendation for giving leadership opportunities to young and yet highly competent individuals like Mr Phiri.
This is indeed a true reflection of Government’s commitment to empower more young people.
President Lungu has during his tenure endeavoured to incorporate young people and women in government leadership positions.
This is commendable as it is in the spirit of inclusiveness.
Gone are the days when all positions of influence were reserved for grey-haired people.
It is good that President Lungu understands that there are so many young people who can add value to our country.
To Mr Phiri, may God grant you wisdom, grace and much boldness as you function in your new office.
