THE Constitutional Court yesterday made historic ruling that declared President Edgar Lungu eligible to stand in the 2021 general elections.
The court ruled that President Lungu has only served one term in office and is, therefore, eligible to vie for office in 2021.
Meanwhile, the ruling sent scores of Patriotic Front (PF) supporters who were anxiously waiting for the verdict outside the Supreme Court grounds into euphoria.
The court passed the ruling with a warning that people who comment on matters that are still before it risk being cited for contempt of court.
