ConCourt allows preliminary issues in presidential case

THE Constitutional Court has granted leave to Attorney General Likando Kalaluka to file summons to raise preliminary issues in the matter opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema has sued President Lungu and Vice-President Inonge Wina.

This is a case in which Mr Kalaluka wanted Mr Hichilema and his vice-president Geoffrey Mwamba’s election petition appeal struck out because of irregularities.
Mr Kalaluka told the court that he intended to file preliminary issues to show that the appeal by the opposition leaders was filed out of time and was not properly before court.
