Computer assembly plant in setback

CONSTRUCTION of a computer assembling plant in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone (LS-MFEZ) still awaits the buying guarantee and selection of a partner before it can be implemented.
In February 2016, the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) bought land in the LS-MFEZ to build a computer assembling plant, initially scheduled to be completed last year.
But the erection of the plant has delayed due to the lack of a buying guarantee, which is an agreement where an institution pledges that it will buy products from a manufacturer.
