Dear editor,
I WOULD like to agree with those who have been complaining about soccer commentaries on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation television.
It’s true that our commentators do not seem to know what is expected of them in the commentary box.
I miss late Dennis Liwewe’s commentaries.
Why should it be difficult to identify players from other countries when you are given a list of their names and numbers they will play before any game starts?
As a regular commentator you are expected to be conversant with the names of players on the field of play.
You can refer to that list when you want to mention the name of a particular player.
We are not interested in grammar, but expect our commentators to be balanced and not biased towards certain players.
ANDREW NYAMBE,
Lusaka.
