Come up with new Lusaka plan, Lusambo tells planners

LUSAKA Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has asked provincial and district planners to come up with a new plan that will help prevent further encroachment of land.
Mr Lusambo (right) said a lot of unplanned structures are being built in all the districts of Lusaka, making it difficult for Government to construct new buildings.
“Government wanted to put up a modern international conference centre in Kafue but all the land on the banks of the Kafue River has been illegally allocated. We have decided to take the conference centre elsewhere,” he said during an interactive meeting with district administrators of all the eight districts in Lusaka Province.
Mr Lusambo said planning officers should also seek the authorisation of traditional leaders to help plan for future developments of traditional land.
