Come out of kitchen

NOMSA NKANA, Lusaka
NATIONAL Democratic Party chairperson for gender and child development Saboi Imboela has advised women on campaign trails against relegating themselves to the kitchen.
Ms Imboela, who is also NDC spokesperson, said some women’s mindsets are so steeped in tradition that when they go on a campaign, their participation is limited to household chores.
“I think the way we do politics in Zambia is wrong. Some people are so steeped in tradition and culture as if they are at their homes, such that when we go on campaign trails, some women spend most of their time in the kitchen cooking instead of campaigning,” she said in an interview.
