Choma gets 140 ballot boxes

THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has delivered 140 ballot boxes to Choma in readiness for the January 20 presidential election.
The election materials were delivered to Choma Municipal Council (CMC) on Friday.
CMC public relations officer Ramona Phiri confirmed receipt of the transparent ballot boxes.
“As part of preparations for the presidential election next year, ECZ has delivered 140 ballot boxes for Choma Central and Mbabala constituencies.
“We are still waiting for communication from ECZ on when the other election materials will be delivered,” Ms Phiri said in an interview yesterday.
As part of preparation for next year’s presidential election, Government recently released K128 million out of the required K344 million budget.
Zambia will on January 20 next year elect a new President following the death of President Sata in a London hospital on October 28.
