Chirwa bounces back as BZ head

CECILIA ZULU, Lusaka
KAMATUWA Chirwa was last weekend re-elected Badminton Zambia (BZ) president after beating his opponent Simon Mwila during the elective annual general meeting in Kitwe.
But Mwila protested the results claiming the

number of votes counted did not tally with the number of clubs that registered to attend the meeting.
Chirwa polled 39 votes while Mwila managed 29.
Efforts to get National Sports Council of Zambia sports development officer Chisanga Bwalya who was presiding officer proved futile.
BZ general secretary Kingsley Mulenga declined to comment.
Other members of the executive are Francis Kunda as vice-president (South).
Mulenga bounced back as general secretary and will be deputised by Juma Muwowo.
Clyde Mbazima is treasurer and will be assisted by Ng’andwe Miyambo.
Committee members are Kenny Sivile, Brian Daka, Hu Da Qing and Olga Siamupangile.
The executive will elect the vice-president (North) soon.
