PRIOR to moving to Saudi Arabian second-tier club Shoalah from Zanaco Football Club last year, Ziyo Tembo was the fulcrum of the Chipolopolo defence.
Since then, Tembo has seemingly been ignored by the subsequent national team coaches, starting with Sven Ludwig Vandenbroeck, who took over from Wedson Nyirenda following the Chipolopolo’s failure to qualify for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Even Aggrey Chiyangi, the care-taker for the dead rubber African Nations Cup qualifier against Namibia today, has ignored Tembo.
Chiyangi, who is reconciling the Chipolopolo in the aftermath of Sven’s failure to qualify the Chipolopolo, should have recalled the former Zanaco captain.
Tembo has invaluable experience and is still an asset to the Chipolopolo.
