Chintu’s death setback to defence service, country

Dear editor,
WHILE death is unavoidable, the passing away of Zambia Air Force Deputy Commander Kapotwe Chintu is shocking.
This is so because Major General Chintu becomes the third deputy Air Commander to die in office.
Recently, the Air Force lost a sitting deputy commander, Major General Muliokela Muliokela, who died along with commanding officer Colonel Brian Mweene in a plane crash in Lusaka in 2014.
Major General Albert Nyemba died in 2002 after collapsing in his office at City Airport shortly after his appointment by President Levy Mwanawasa.
The death of Chintu is a setback to the defence service and the entire nation.
