CHINA Railway Seventh Group Zambia Limited has donated K119,000 to Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital in Lusaka to enable the institution buy an HV Collinator Board for the CT Scan which has not been working for about two years.
Lusaka Province medical director Matildah Simpungwe said when she received the donation on Friday that the funds will help enable the hospital to effectively provide quality training and referral services.
“In order to offer quality health services, Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital requires appropriate and adequate medical equipment befitting a referral hospital. When patients are referred to the next level of health care, they expect to get specialised health services in terms of medical examinations and diagnosis services,” she said.
Dr Simpungwe said Government considers partnership with various organisations as critical in the provision of health services.
She appealed to management at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital to guard the equipment jealously and use it properly in providing affordable scanning services to patients.
