PRISCILLA MWILA, Lusaka
A DELEGATION of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPCC) committee from Guangdong Province has arrived in Zambia, with its chairman Wang Rong calling for enhanced cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking on arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport yesterday, Mr Wang said China and Zambia have continued to enjoy a long-standing relationship that has resulted in massive benefits for the two countries.
“Guangdong Province is the economic powerhouse for China and our visit to Lusaka is necessary because we want to further understand the already existing corporation foundation between the two provinces,” he said.
Mr Wang said the establishment of the consular general of Zambia in Guangdong has opened up new channels for enhanced bilateral exchange between the two provinces.
And Lusaka Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe commended the CPCC delegation for visiting the province.
