POWER Dynamos coach Tenant Chilumba says his team is targeting dislodging Zesco United from the summit of the Super Division log.
Chilumba said in an interview after Power beat Napsa Stars in a Week 19 match at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday that the Kitwe outfit are not giving up on winning the title.
Power are second on the log with 39 points, one behind leaders Zesco United but the reigning champions could widen the gap to four points if they are awarded points from the abandoned Week 19 match against Mufulira Wanderers.
Chilumba said a win over Napsa has put Power firmly in contention for the title.
“I am happy we got maximum points. That was our plan. We had to quickly recover from the Buffaloes loss and the boys responded very well. This win keeps us in contention for the league title and we will keep on pushing because our aim is to win the title,†he said.
Power lost 1-0 to Green Buffaloes in Kitwe on August 2.
Napsa coach Wilson Mwale attributed the loss to the demise of team manager Boniface Lupaka who was buried four days ago.
Mwale said Lupaka was more like a father and the players were affected by his death.
“We did not play well but we have to work hard and win the remaining matches. This was my first loss in four matches I am sure we will recover soon,†he said.
