A DOMESTIC worker yesterday narrated to a Lusaka magistrates’ court how she duped her boyfriend into buying diapers and other consumables for another man’s baby she made him believe was his.
Precious Chonya, 32, who is charged with child theft, said she stole a six-month-old baby after faking her pregnancy for nine months to deceive her boyfriend.
It is alleged that on August 7 this year, Chonya, with intent to deprive Beatrice Banda, fraudulently took away Peter Banda, a child under the age of 16 years, who was in lawful care of its mother.
When the matter came up before magistrate Chanda Nsunge, Chonya pleaded guilty.
