SIX traditional and religious leaders from six districts have complained of rampant truancy and child neglect in their communities resulting in defilements, early marriages and general child abuse.
Speaking at a two-day meeting in Kabwe, the community leaders from Kasama, Mpika, Mkushi, Kabwe, Katete and Mazabuka said the degree of these vices is worrisome.
In a statement of commitment, the leaders said there is need to uphold the good culture and customs that promote acceptable ways of raising children in various communities countrywide.READ MORE
