Chief Justice breathes fire

ACTING Chief Justice Marvin Mwanamwambwa says the Supreme Court will not tolerate attacks and insults on it, and that those who have done so are being prosecuted.Mr Justice Mwanamwambwa said there are people who are currently facing contempt of court charges for allegedly insulting and attacking the Judiciary.
He said this in response to a letter from a Lufwanyama resident who has written to his office to investigate whether United Party for National Development president Hakainde Hichilema was in contempt of court when he issued statements attacking the Judiciary.
Henry Chibombo of Mushingashi Primary School in Lufwanyama said that last year in September, Mr Hichilema, while on a visit in South Africa, accused the Judiciary of corruption.
