Chembe MP calls for removal of duty on sanitary towels

NANCY SIAME, Lusaka
CHEMBE member of Parliament (MP) Sebastian Kopulande (PF) has proposed that Government should remove import duty on sanitary towels in the 2017 budget to make them affordable for girls, especially those in rural areas.
And Mr Kopulande has appealed to the Ministry of Health to consider distributing free sanitary towels in rural schools.
He said during his maiden speech to Parliament on Tuesday that most girls in his constituency drop out of school due to lack of sanitary towels to use during their menstrual days.READ MORE
