Chef Siba set for Matebeto

THE MTN Zambia sponsored Zamfest is set for today in the Lusaka Showgrounds, marking the second year running for the country’s largest food, music and arts festival.
MTN has taken over the sponsorship of the annual festival, giving festival goers international cuisine and a line-up of local and international musical acts.
The MTN Zamfest has lined up exciting chefs from across Africa, pop-up restaurants, more than 100 international and local foods to sample as well as a wide selection of local and international beverages.
This year’s line-up brings together popular chef Siba, whose cooking show Siba’s Table has a massive following across Africa. The event will also see international act Mafikizolo grace the stage, supported by the local crowd pullers DJ Hussein and VJeezy.
MTN Zambia chief marketing officer Felix Kamenga says the event is a natural fit for MTN, whose focus this year is a superior customer experience.
Kamenga says 2018 as ‘Year of the Customer’ is a milestone year for the country’s telecoms leader as the company will reward customers for making MTN the largest telecoms operator.
“Zamfest is an international food, music and ensemble festival with a taste from every corner of the world,” he says.
“This year is all about the customer and events such as Zamfest give us an unmatched opportunity to share and interact with our customers while thanking them for making us number one in the country. MTN is all about connectivity and Zamfest is one of the biggest festivals for our customers and the public to make meaningful connections.”
Kamenga adds that he expects the public to turn out for the event, noting that more than 10,000 festival goers attended the 2017 edition and that MTN has come on board to take the event to the next level.
“Through our sponsorship of Zamfest, we are close to the festivities that make Zambian life so rich and entertaining. We are delighted to be part of Zamfest as it brings people together to enjoy and experience different cultures, food and entertainment,” he says.
