Charms, sex, whiskey: Court hears horrifying abduction ordeal

A JUDGE yesterday heard a graphic account of how two youths abducted a two-months pregnant woman and 12 others, held them hostage while subjecting them to sexual, mental and physical torture, some for 200 days before being rescued.
Lusaka High Court Judge Charles Kafunda also heard how James Bwalya and his friend Mathews Sikaonga, used to administer a herbal concoction on the 13 women to prevent their families from locating them in Lusaka’s Chalala.
One of the victims was abducted alongside her three-year-old child.
Bwalya, 23, and Sikaonga, 22, pleaded guilty to 54 counts of abduction, rape, aggravated assault and robbery, abduction of a child, aggravated assault with intent to steal.
