Chambeshi calls for ‘links’

BESTON Chambeshi says the next Chipolopolo coach should cultivate direct relationships with foreign club coaches where national team players are plying their trade.
Chambeshi was in charge of Zambia’s 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup qualifying run, which ended with the Chipolopolo failing to make it beyond the group stage after finishing third.
Zambia managed two wins, one draw and three losses in Group B that had eventual winners Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea and Mauritania.
Reflecting on his time at the national team, Chambeshi told the Sports Mail in an interview recently that there is no relationship between the Chipolopolo technical bench and most foreign clubs.
One of the reasons the Chipolopolo struggled in the World Cup qualifiers is that they missed some key players like midfielder Enock Mwepu in some matches due to injuries and coronavirus restrictions.
