UNITED NATIONS World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) secretary general Taleb Rifai has urged Zambians to preserve and protect their cultural heritage.
Speaking at the third edition of the Pamodzi Carnival celebrations in Lusaka’s Showground yesterday, where traditional dances, foods and drinks, music and handicrafts were showcased, Mr Rifai said Zambians should preserve and protect that which God has given the country, including natural resources and its cultural heritage.
“Culture is the story of the people and who you are. Culture is the story, tourism is a story-teller,” he said. “I was happy to see what cultural diversity Zambia has.”http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
