THE Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) says it has disbursed loans worth K102 million to over 44,000 marketeers under the Marketeer Booster Loan initiative.
The product was launched last year to empower traders with capital to grow their businesses.
The K102 million has been disbursed using various mobile digital payment platforms.
Yesterday, the commission entered into partnership with Airtel Money to enhance the use of the mobile digital platform for loan disbursement and repayment.
Speaking during the signing of the agreement, CEEC director general Charles Mungule said the commission has been using MTN and Airtel Money to disburse loans to the marketeers.
Dr Mungule said the disbursement of loans through mobile digital payment platforms has been successful.
