WORLD Boxing Council (WBC) silver bantamweight champion Catherine Phiri has been rated second in her category.
The other African boxer in the category Bukiwe Nonina of South Africa has been rated 24th out of 29 boxers.
According to the March ratings, Catherine, who is also Africa Boxing Union champion, has moved by three places while International Boxing Federation champion Carolina Rodriguez of Chile is rated first.
And Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions director of operations Christopher Malunga said the rating is encouraging.
