WE ARE getting into a windy period, and this can be harsh for our facial skin.
Windy weather dries up your skin out to the maximum.
No matter how much you keep yourself warm, it is hard to protect your face from the harsh winter conditions as it is always exposed.
But don’t worry, it is possible to do your makeup when your skin is super dry, and we have eight tips from makeup artist Suzy Gerstein.
PREPARE YOUR SKIN AT NIGHT
Starting with moisturised skin is like keeping your car oiled, it will be easier to run foundation over it when you get ready. Powerful masks like provide deep, intense hydration with nourishing ingredients. Use them once a week and see how much your face needs it.
WASH YOUR FACE WITH GENTLE INGREDIENTS
Another skin care preparation comes from washing your face every day to remove makeup, tones, and cleanses without rinsing or letting water dry out your skin, then use oil conditioning cleanser to remove makeup and dirt, while smoothing skin with avocado and coconut oil.
MOISTURISE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURISE
The last step before grabbing your makeup is obviously using a great moisturiser. Gerstein suggests looking for “products with moisturising and anti-inflammatory ingredients to combat the flakiness and irritation that characterize winter skin.” If you have oily skin, try a gel product that absorbs immediately and minimises pores. If you have combination or super-dry skin, try a product that uses cryogenic technology from the Arctic to repair and moisturise skin. No matter what you use, just make sure it’s absorbed before you start putting makeup on.
It is important to moisturise your skin before putting any makeup on it is to hold firm.
Wikipedia now gives tips on steps to a perfect makeup:
Spread primer onto your skin. Primer is a makeup product that fills your pores and smooths your skin in preparation for foundation. To apply primer, dab a small amount onto your cheeks, forehead, and chin. Blend the primer into your skin using your fingertips or a foundation brush.
APPLY A LAYER OF FOUNDATION
Foundation evens out your skin tone and gives you a beautiful glow. To apply foundation, dab a small amount on your cheeks, forehead, chin, and the bridge of your nose. For light coverage, use your fingertips to blend the foundation towards the edges of your face.
Use concealer to erase any blemishes. Concealer can be used to cover up acne, red spots, or dark circles under your eyes.
Apply translucent setting powder. Translucent setting powder is a clear powder that locks in foundation and soaks up any excess oil that your skin produces.
FILL IN YOUR EYEBROWS
If you already have dark, well-defined eyebrows, you can skip this step. Otherwise, use an eyebrow pencil that closely matches your hair colour to fill in your eyebrows.
BRUSH ON SOME BLUSH
Use a blush brush to apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Use long, smooth motions to blend the blush towards your temples.
For a simple look, apply a darker colour to your creases and blend it onto your eyelids. Next, brush a lighter, shimmering tone onto the centre of your eyelids.
Use eyeliner to enhance your eyes. First, purchase high quality eyeliners that won’t smudge or wear off throughout the day. Next, apply a small amount to each eye and examine them for differences.
Lean your head back and look forward to hold your eyelashes away from your face. Hold the mascara wand near the base of your eyelashes. Move the wand from side to side to press the wand bristles between your eyelashes. Draw the wand up along your eyelashes to coat their entire length.
WEAR LIPSTICK OR LIP GLOSS
Choose a bright colour that makes them pop. For a bold, heavy lip coverage, use lipstick. For a lighter, shiny colour, use lip gloss.
You are now ready to conquer the world!
Have a blessed weekend.
