GOALKEEPER Jonathan Mfula heroically saved two penalties as Division One Zone One side Young Buffaloes defied football hierarchy to eliminate Super Division Green Buffaloes on post-match penalties and book a date against Nkana in the Barclays Cup final.
“It is a sweet victory and I am very happy that we have beaten Green Buffaloes. It is a huge achievement for us. It feels good. I feel good that I saved two penalties and I denied them [Buffaloes] several scoring opportunities in regulation time,” Mfula, who was voted player-of-the-match, said.
Paul Chibambo, Lighton Kasoloto, Chibesa Kaunda and Chileshe Kabwe scored for the first division side while Buffaloes’ goalkeeper Davy Kaumbwa saved Abeauty Simazuwo’s shot.
