Bwalya’s stay thrills Chiyangi

NKANA coach Aggrey Chiyangi is delighted that goal-poacher Walter Bwalya has extended his contract with the legendary side.
Chiyangi said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that it is important for the club to retain quality players if it is to win the league title next year.
On Tuesday, Bwalya extended his stay at the Wusakile-based side to two years and the deal will end in 2019.
“It is good for the club and for the player as well.
He gets to have another shot at the club, which means he will improve on his performance. I am happy that he is staying because he is a top player.
“You cannot doubt the fact that Walter [Bwalya] is a gifted player and his contribution to the club last season was immense. We will keep on looking for possibilities to strengthen the team even more,” Chiyangi said.
Bwalya was Super Division top-scorer with 24 goals and also grabbed three awards during the club’s end-of-year gala last week.
He bagged the player-ofthe-year, top-scorer and fans’ player-of-year awards.
Bwalya also won the Super Division golden boot.
Meanwhile, promoted Super Division side Buildcon Football Club will over the next two weeks conduct trials for local and foreign players.
Club chairman Moses Musonda said in an interview in Ndola yesterday that the technical bench has decided to hold the trials in a bid to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2017 Super Division campaign.
Musonda said that the club has resolved to recruit players that will bolster their squad.
