Buy local products – Katambo

GOVERNMENT has advised Zambians to desist from buying imported edible oil to support local producers and the farming community.
Minister of Agriculture Michael Katambo said there is need to encourage Zambians to buy local edible oil to provide income for the farmers growing soya beans, which is the major ingredient.
“There is no need for Zambians to continue buying imported cooking oils stocked in supermarkets when the commodity is being manufactured locally.
“I urge all Zambians to support local agribusiness by buying Zambian cooking oil to increase income for farmers as well as contribute to the overall economic development of the country,” he said.
