STANBIC Bank chief economist Victor Chileshe has said that business conditions in the Zambian private sector has continued to improve in the first quarter of this year.
Releasing findings of the purchasing managers index (PMI) for April, Mr Chileshe said business activity is rising as the negative impacts of the recent outbreak of cholera have subsided.
“The latest PMI survey data signalled a further improvement in the health of the Zambian private sector during April.
“Moreover, companies continued to win new business at a solid pace amid stronger client demand. Subsequently, purchasing activity rose and employment has been stabilised,” he said.
