Buffaloes coach speaks league title after beating Nkwazi

MUSONDA

SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA, Lusaka
COACH Bilton Musonda says Thursday’s victory over Nkwazi has given Green Buffaloes players belief that they could end the 36-year wait

for the league title.
Buffaloes beat Nkwazi 2-0 in a rescheduled Week 15 match at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka to move to fourth position with 25 points, six behind leaders Napsa Stars.
Musonda said in an interview that the players have shown hunger for success this season.
“Our target for this season remains to win the title. This win over Nkwazi therefore is a morale booster for us. I am happy with the courage the boys showed today,” he said.
Buffaloes, who have five league titles, last conquered the local scene in 1981.
Friday Samu and Malan Gondwe scored a goal apiece.
And Nkwazi assistant coach Kenneth Malitoli attributed the defeat to lapses in defence.
