HENRY SINYANGWE, Kasama
MINISTER of Information and Broadcasting Services Kampamba Mulenga is impressed with the works done on the installation of signal

transmission equipment by Star Times in Kasama.
Speaking when she inspected the installation of the equipment in the district yesterday, Ms Mulenga said her ministry will ensure all the towers are installed countrywide by the end of next year.
“We want all the parts of the country to have access to television signal by next year so that people are not only informed but also educated and entertained,” she said.
She is impressed that the installation of equipment in Kasama will be completed within two weeks.
“This is impressive because it shows that the digital migration process is progressing well,” Ms Mulenga said.
She has also said there is need to operationalise the local printing press at the Zambia News and Information Services in Kasama.
She said Government spent a lot of money on procuring the equipment, therefore there is need to make it operational.
“There is need to start printing various news in local languages so that even our grandmothers are informed and entertained,” Ms Mulenga said.
Ms Mulenga, who is in the company of the ministry’s permanent secretary Godfrey Malama, is also touring various radio stations in the province to familiarise herself with their operations.
