MISS Tourism Zambia Organisation has picked Miss Teen Commonwealth 2014 and Miss Tourism Eastern Province 2013 Brandina Lubuli to represent Zambia at the Miss International pageant in Tokyo, Japan in November.
The Miss Tourism Zambia Organisation confirmed that Brandina, 19, will be the country’s envoy to the pageant organised by International Cultural Association.
“Brandina Lubuli (19 years old), Miss Teen Commonwealth 2014 winner and Miss Tourism Eastern Province 2013 has been selected by the Miss Tourism Zambia Organisation to represent Zambia at the 55th Miss International pageant which is organised by the International Cultural Association and will be held on November 5, 2015 at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo, Japan,” the statement reads.
“Miss Lubuli is a hardworking and disciplined young lady who is committed towards promoting Zambia and undertaking charitable events.”
The Miss International 2015, which has attracted over 50 delegates, will see Valerie Hernandez of Puerto Rico crown her successor at the end of the event in a new crown created and designed by Mikimoto, the originator of cultured pearls and one of the world’s leading specialty jewellers.
Brandina, who stands at 1.75metres, should have a fair shot at the Miss International crown.
Last year, the then 18-year-old beat 53 contestants at the Miss Teen Commonwealth International at the pageant held at Radisson Inn in the United Kingdom.
The Miss Teen Commonwealth is the junior title for Commonwealth beauty pageants and is open to females aged 16 and 19 year who have never been married, never had children and whose country of origin is a member of the Commonwealth.
