SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA, Lusaka
WELTERWEIGHT Mbachi Kaonga and lightweight Nkumbu Silungwe yesterday left for the World Boxing Championship slated for Germany after Fairly Bottling donated air tickets worth K50,000.
The tournament gets underway on Friday.
Fairy Bottling chief executive officer Mohamed El Sahili said in Lusaka that his organisation was motivated to help the boxers following their impressive performance during the African Championship held in Congo Brazzaville where they both won bronze medals.
Zambia Boxing Federation president Kennedy Mubita is confident the two pugilists, who are accompanied by national team coach Wisdom Mudenda, will reap medals.
