COMMON Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has called on member states to focus on boosting cross-border trade in the region by reducing impediments that affect trade.
The regional economic bloc feels that trade information desk officers (TIDOS) should pay attention to issues related to trade to support imports and exports among member countries.
COMESA director of trade and customs Francis Mangeni told participants at a recently-held capacity building workshop of 20 TIDO’s who were recently recruited to facilitate small cross-border trade between eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda.
