Be productive, NGOCC tells young people

LONGWE

LINDA NYONDO, Lusaka
NON-GOVERNMENTAL Organisations Coordinating Council (NGOCC) board chairperson, Sara Longwe has called on the youths in Zambia to be productive.
Ms Longwe said most youths in Zambia have ended up being used as tools of violence because they are dormant.
“Take a look at the just ended campaigns and elections, the youths were being used to perpetrate violence,’’ she said.
Speaking in Lusaka at a meeting organised for the youths in Zambia under the theme ‘Discover your potential to greatness’ Ms Longwe said the youths should utilise their potential.
She said there is need to have more youths with a vision of what they want to become so that they can be productive in life.
Speaking at the same event, Women for Change executive director Lumba Sianga said the programme is aimed at making children in rural areas realise that they can be successful and achieve their dreams.
“We want to help them become focused in life, to help them achieve their dreams. We hold these conferences once every year,’’ she said.
Ms Sianga expressed hope that the 60 youths will utilise the training for their own benefit.
